Brisbane: Music + Poetry, December 2024

On Saturday, December 7, Lyrical Opposition and Friends of the Brisbane Library hosted their first collaborative event, "Brisbane: Music + Poetry," at Lyrical Vinyl from 10am to 11am. The intimate morning gathering transformed the nonprofit record store into a welcoming artistic space, where attendees enjoyed complimentary refreshments from Mission Blue Coffee and treats from Bob's Donuts.

The hour-long event featured moving performances by artists Elisa Solei and Cerah Love, alongside local talent Nhamdi, all set against a backdrop of soothing chillhop vibes. Lyrical Vinyl, which specializes in donated and used vinyl records, cassettes, DVDs, and video games, provided the perfect venue for this community gathering, with all proceeds supporting admission-free events and artist compensation.

This collaboration between Lyrical Opposition and Friends of the Brisbane Library demonstrated the power of local organizations coming together to create meaningful artistic experiences for the Brisbane community.
