We were invited by BraveMaker to screen one of our Re-Entrification short films for Google PeopleDev Culture Crew to promote the BraveMaker Film Festival on July 11-14, 2024 in Redwood City, CA.
Re-Entrification at University of California, Berkeley
On April 9, 2024, Lyrical Opposition held a film screening and Q&A discussion of the film, Re-Entrification: A Place We Call Home at the University of California, Berkeley. It was an honor to be invited by Maya Carrasquillo, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering into her class to speak to her student. Maya, who will also be appearing in a future Re-Entrification short film, led the discussion on housing insecurity in the Bay Area and how to be a part of the solution. The Q&A discussion had spoken word poet in the film and Berkeley alumni, Stephanie Franco, as well as the director of the film, Fego Navarro.
