On Sunday, April 16th, 2023, Lyrical Assembly presented their annual The Sunday After event in collaboration with Oak Life Church at Oakstop, 2323 Broadway, Oakland, California. The event was a celebration of faith, arts, and advocacy, bringing together the community for a powerful day of performances and inspirational talks.

On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, the community gathered at the historic 7 Mile House in the San Francisco Peninsula for an evening of entertainment, art, music, and powerful spoken word poetry. The Brisbane Poetry Reading and Mixer brought together local artists from Brisbane, the Bay Area, and beyond to share their creative voices and inspire the audience.

On Monday, May 23, 2022, Re-Entrification was screened for the first time, along with a housing symposium after the film. This footage is a clip of the first time the team got to watch part of the film during the soundcheck before the actual screening.

The Lyrical Opposition team went to Rapture Recordings to support fellow artist, Dela Paz record his song, "Smile" and was able to finish the track in one sitting. The track was mixed by Cody Fuentes.

In "Listening to God," poet Jermaine Hughes delivers a powerful and introspective performance reflecting on his spiritual journey. With raw vulnerability, he recounts moments of struggling to hear God's voice amidst life's chaos and distractions. Hughes' words paint vivid pictures of seeking divine guidance, grappling with doubt, and ultimately finding peace in surrendering to a higher power.

We sit with The Poetic Activist, Porsche Veu as she illustrates the transformations that shaped her into the woman that leads with compassion and fearless in opposition. A conversation that inspires and illuminates.

It's the return of the Peace bearers and heart sleeve wearers. Running up and down the streets for the cardio. Our conversation leads us from the food we eat, the family we know, to the world as it is shown to us through the frame of others. Baking another episode of water and flour for the slow dough, rise with the heat and eat as needed. This is one for the soul. Stay nourished, keep going.
